Pool Chemicals: pH Reducer

Maintaining the chemical balance of pool water is fundamental for keeping it clean and safe for health. Periodic maintenance and the addition of health-conscious chemicals are essential.

Importance of pH Value

The normal pH value should be in the range of 7.2 to 7.6. At this range, 70% of chlorine activity is maintained. When the pH rises to 8.2, activity drops to just 15%.

Benefits of correct pH levels:

  • No eye irritation
  • No adverse effects on human health
  • Chlorine works effectively

Problems with high pH:

  • Limescale buildup
  • Dull water appearance
  • Turbidity

Problems with low pH:

  • Eye, nose and skin conditions
  • Corrosion of metal components
  • Skin staining

How to Balance pH?

Powder pH Reducer (Sodium Bisulfate): Use 300 grams to 1.2 kg per 100 m³ of water.

Liquid pH Reducer (Acid-Based): Use 300 milliliters to 1.2 liters per 100 m³ of water.
